Gift Aid the items you donate - the difference adds up!
Gift Aid now adds 25% to the value of the goods you donate to Trinity.
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid enables Trinity Hospice to reclaim tax that you’ve paid, as a UK Income or Capital Gains Tax payer, on items you donate to our shops.
This means that when we sell an item you donated for £30, HM Revenue & Customs will add a further 25%. That adds up to an extra £7.50, at no extra cost to you, to help Trinity provide specialist end of life care.
You need to have paid Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the amount of tax that Trinity Hospice (or any other charities you support) reclaim in that same year.
What do I have to do?
Tell us you are a UK taxpayer by completing a registration form when you bring goods in to our shops or download the form below (to be returned to any shop or by post).
We will send a personal Gift Aid donor card with your customer number shortly after you register. Whenever you donate in future we will swipe your card to recognise Gift Aid can be added to your donations.
What happens when my goods are sold?
Once your items are sold we will write to let you know how much money we've raised. With your permission, we will treat the money raised as a donation and reclaim the tax. You won’t have to do a thing.
